EU Scheme for Young Professionals in Bosnia and Herzegovina open for applicants

SARAJEVO, September 4 (FENA) - The Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Directorate for European Integration (DEI) of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Public Administration Reform Coordinator’s Office (PARCO) and the British Council in Bosnia and Herzegovina announce the forthcoming opening of the Call for applications to the EU Scheme for Young Professionals in Bosnia and Herzegovina (EUSYP BiH) – Round I.

The program will cover the following costs for up to 25 participants: tuition fees for the two online executive trainings offered by the College of Europe; accommodation and living allowances in Belgium during the Study Visit in 2021
health insurance and flight tickets during the Study Visit; Aptis English language test costs; Intra-BiH exchange and Western Balkans mobility program costs (travel, food and lodging).

The Action is managed by the European Union Delegation in BiH and implemented by the British Council. Applications will be open from 3rd September until 20th September 2020.

Nicolas Bizel, Head of the Section for Operations for Justice, Home Affairs and Public Administration Reform of the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina, pointed out that the EU Program for Young Civil Servants in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a continuation of EU reform initiatives related to strengthening the capacities of young civil servants, which was launched through a regional program in the Western Balkans.

"Having in mind the growing obligations arising from the process of European integration, Bosnia and Herzegovina needs well-trained civil servants who understand the principles and ways of working in the European Union and who should become a driving force for the development of public administration in the future," said Bizel.

Director of the British Council office in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Larisa Halilović, pointed out that this project promotes cooperation between governments and institutions at all levels, but most importantly, connects young civil servants who will share best practices.

"The exchange of young civil servants between different levels of government in BiH will create an environment for cooperation, encourage competitiveness, professionalism and mobility within civil services," she stressed.
