Tegeltija,Novalić and Višković with Palmer on economy and Covid-19 consequences

SARAJEVO, September 9 (FENA) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zoran Tegeltija talked today in Sarajevo, together with the Prime Ministers of FBiH and RS Fadil Novalić and Radovan Višković, with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Matthew Palmer.

The officials discussed current economic topics in the context of mitigating the negative consequences caused by Covid-19.

Chairman Tegeltija briefed Palmer on the activities that the Council of Ministers, in accordance with its competencies and in cooperation with the entity governments, is undertaking in order to preserve the health of the citizens and start economic activity.

Tegeltija pointed out the timely and adequate reaction of institutions in BiH when it comes to saving lives and preserving the health of citizens, emphasizing that in the coming period it is necessary to direct existing instruments of financial support and initiatives to rehabilitate the health sector, start economic activities and restore jobs.

At the same time, he stressed the need for financial support from international financial organizations to address the social and economic consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and launch an investment cycle.

The interlocutors also exchanged opinions on other current political and economic topics in BiH, the region and the world, the BiH Council of Ministers announced.
