SARAJEVO, September 11 (FENA) - The third edition of Al Jazeera Balkans International Documentary Film Festival (AJB DOC) opens today and will last until September 15 in a customized format. The program of the festival is available on the official website, www.ajbdoc.ba.
AJB DOC has made it possible for the audience in the region to watch all documentaries free of charge on the festival website, without the need to register.
"After two successful editions of the AJB DOC Film Festival, we thought it was essential to maintain continuity and we adapted to the new conditions primarily because of the authors and the audience, which are the reasons for entering the project of organizing a documentary festival here in Sarajevo," said the Director of Al Jazeera Balkans, Tarik Đođić.
Out of almost 300 submitted films, 18 documentaries were selected for the three-selection program, 10 for the competition selection, five for the AJB Screening selection and three for the Last Minute Cinema program.
Among the 18 top-production documentaries, which will be available online at AJB DOC, there are six world, eight regional and four BiH premiere screenings.
The My Film service on 'Moja TV' is currently showing documentaries produced by Al Jazeera and Al Jazeera Balkans, with the addition of short BiH documentaries.
Since this year's edition of the AJB DOC Film Festival is held under the auspices of BH Telecom, Moja TV - within its Moj film service - will provide an access to the AJB channel where the Moja TV users will have the opportunity to see five films from this year's AJB DOC, free of charge. The films will be available for viewing 24 hours after being shown at the festival and will be available for viewing for the next 48 hours.
The festival opens with the world premiere of the film 'Džemo', in which young authors Lejla Kajić and Davorin Sekulić bring the life story of a cattle breeder who loves running, and who pushes the boundaries.
The film, co-produced by Klix.ba and Al Jazeera Balkans, will be shown as part of the AJB Screening selection, and the audience will be able to watch it from Friday, September 11, at 7.30 pm, until the end of the festival, the AJB DOC Festival press service announced.
