SARAJEVO, September 15 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turković received today Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to BiH Johanna Strömquist in an inaugural visit.
During the conversation with the Ambassador, Turković pointed out that Sweden is a great friend of Bosnia and Herzegovina and expressed gratitude to the Swedish Government for keeping BiH high on the list of priorities of its foreign policy and actively advocating that BiH be on the agenda of the European Union.
She added that there are no open issues between the two countries and thanked the Embassy of Sweden and the Swedish Development Agency for projects they are implementing in BiH in order to reduce unemployment, improve competitiveness and economic development in general.
The Minister and the Ambassador exchanged information on the situation in both countries in the field of combating the COVID-19 pandemic, and the challenges in the fields of economy, health, tourism, flow of people and goods.
Turković informed the Ambassador about the internal political situation in our country, emphasizing the expectation that seven of the 14 priorities from the European Commission's Opinion for BiH will be met by the end of the year, as well as the Revised Strategy for War Crimes Prosecution and the NATO Integration Process Commission.
Ambassador Strömquist informed about Sweden's foreign policy priorities, emphasizing that the emphasis in the coming period will be on the fight against organized crime and raising security levels, and announced the continuation of support of her country to the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, expressing confidence that EU membership will definitely stabilize the region, the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
