SARAJEVO, September 16 (FENA) - Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turković received Ambassador of the Republic of France Guillaume Rousson in a farewell visit.
The officials stated that the relations between the two countries are excellent and not burdened with open issues, and expressed commitment to further strengtheninig cooperation and overall relations.
The Ambassador thanked Minister Turković for the cooperation during his diplomatic mandate in BiH and expressed his belief that good bilateral relations between BiH and France will continue to develop successfully. Aware of the difficulties that BiH is facing, partly due to the complex institutional system, he pointed out that he is more optimistic today about leaving BiH than he was during his arrival. He is pleased that there is a consensus in BiH on the European path. France will continue to support BiH's European path and closely monitor the fulfillment of the 14 priorities set out in the European Commission's Opinion.
Ambassador Rousson also informed Minister Turković that internal procedures related to signing of the Agreement on the expansion of activities of the French Development Agency (AFD) would soon be completed in France, followed by the opening of an AFD office. He considers the opening of the office to be of great importance because, as he said, it will mean a new beginning in bilateral relations, but also give a positive signal and encourage some other French companies to operate in BiH.
Minister Turković emphasized the important role and support of France on BiH's path towards European integration.
Finally, she thanked Ambassador Rousson for his personal contribution to the development and strengthening of overall bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and France and wished him much success in his future work and professional career, announced the PR Office of BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
