Transport Ministry, FTC agree activities to prevent illegal passenger transport

SARAJEVO, September 17 (FENA) - Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina Vojin Mitrović and Deputy Minister Nedžad Brankovic and his associates held a meeting yesterday with representatives of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH (FTC BiH) and members of the Association of Carriers in International Road Passenger Transport.

Representatives of the carriers welcomed the actions of the Ministry regarding the amendments to the Registration Rulebook and the possibility of temporary suspension of transport on international and inter-entity bus lines. They also informed the participants about the extremely difficult situation in the field of international transport and made suggestions for its improvement.

It was agreed at the meeting to take action to prevent the illegal transport of passengers in international and inter-entity transport and to forward the Law on International and Inter-Entity Road Transport in BiH to the parliamentary procedure. In the part related to sanctioning of illegal transport of passengers, the launch of a campaign against illegal transport is announced for October, the Ministry of Communications and Transport of BiH announced.
