SARAJEVO, September 17 (FENA) - High Representative Valentin Inzko recalled today the tragic deaths of 12 OHR and UN officials in a helicopter crash 23 years ago in the mountains above Fojnica at Prokoško Lake, OHR announced.
“The tragic deaths of our colleagues Peter Backes, Livio Beccaccio, Andrzej Buler, David Kriskovich, Leah Melnick, Charles Morpeth, William Nesbitt, Marvin Padgett, Thomas Reinhardt, Jurgen Schauf, Georg Stiebler, and Gerd Wagner is the ultimate testimony to their dedication, and the dedication of many others who served in Bosnia and Herzegovina and helped to achieve lasting peace and the recovery of this country.
He added that Bosnia and Herzegovina is on the path towards the European Union today and that the success of Bosnia and Herzegovina on that path is the best way to honor their memory.
