SARAJEVO, September 23 (FENA) - Member of the Crisis Staff of the FBiH Ministry of Health and Assistant Minister of Public Health of the Federation of BiH Goran Čerkez said that the improvement of the epidemiological situation caused by coronavirus in the Sarajevo Canton was commendable and pointed out that it happened because of the compliance with prescribed measures.
At the meeting initiated by the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Mario Nenadić, the two exchanged information on the current situation in the canton, as well as measures taken and planned by the Federation of BiH and the Sarajevo Canton to be as ready as possible for the autumn period.
The general opinion is that the situation in the canton is currently satisfactory and does not require the introduction of more restrictive measures.
“If we take into account the number of patients, which we had in the previous period in the Sarajevo Canton, in a short period there was a significant improvement of the situation, which is now satisfactory and we can say above expectations.
It is the success of the profession, the work of health professionals, epidemiologists and those at the clinic who treated patients, but also the agility or readiness of the cantonal government to monitor, supervise and engage all relevant authorities and available capacities to implement and respect these prescribed measures.
The good cooperation between the Institute of Public Health of the SC and the Ministry of Health is obvious, which provided a good model that gives results at this stage. We would like to have more examples like the one in the Sarajevo Canton,” Čerkez pointed out.
