SARAJEVO, September 25 (FENA) - Director of the BiH Border Police and Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to BiH Margret Uebber signed an Agreement on the donation of the Federal Republic of Germany to the BiH Border Police on Thursday at the BiH Border Police headquarters.
In addition to the leadership of the BiH Border Police, the signing ceremony was attended by the Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Selmo Cikotić, as well as the Liaison Officer of the German Federal Police, Florian Wedekind.
The Federal Republic of Germany donated vehicles for the operational work of the BiH Border Police, a device for checking documents, flashlights, detectors and endoscopes.
The donated funds are worth about 850,000 euros, the BiH Border Police said.
"Since the establishment of this police agency, the friendly country Germany has been following our work and activities, and according to our needs, donating equipment that we can use every day. This equipment will be used for border control, which will certainly contribute to combating illegal migration," said director Galić.
Minister of Security of BiH, Selmo Cikotić said that the BiH Border Police has quality staff and that the donated equipment will greatly help in more effective protection of the state border.
Ambassador Uebber announced that the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany will be a partner of the BiH BP in the coming period and support its further development, and thanked the management of this police agency for the successful cooperation.
