ZVORNIK, September 25 (FENA) - Members of the Zvornik Border Police Unit and the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), who were hired to assist the BiH Border Police in border control, prevented the smuggling of 11 people of Afro-Asian origin from Zvornik from the Republic of Serbia to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
These are young men from Afghanistan who did not have identification documents and who were smuggled by boat across the Drina River.
They were smuggled by an Afghan citizen who was navigating the boat, the BiH Border Police stated.
Due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of smuggling of persons, he was detained on the order of the Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and will be handed over to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH with a report on the committed criminal offense.
