Salkić: Authorities in RS are trying to present Bosniaks as radical

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, September 27 (FENA) - Republika Srpska Vice President Ramiz Salkić said that in the BiH entity of RS, there is pressure on the Bosniaks that the authorities are carrying out in order to present them as radical and to justify in public the crimes committed by their predecessors against Bosniaks.

Reacting to recent developments, when authorities and some media in Serbia and the RS entity accused Bosniaks of attempting to attack Serbian and BiH officials, Salkić called on the Office of the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina (OHR) and state authorities to provide protection for individuals and their families who are accused of what they did not do.

“The pressure on Bosniaks in the BiH entity of RS has been carried out continuously and in various ways since their return to that part of BiH after the end of the armed aggression on BiH. It should be reminded that 13 returnees were killed and dozens wounded in the return process, and no one was responsible for those attacks,” Salkić reminded.

The RS Vice President also reminds that Bosniaks are prevented from learning and using Bosnian as their mother tongue through systemic discrimination in education and apartheid, which is the most obvious example of the violation of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms in Europe, and no one reacts or sanctions the authorities in that entity that do so.

He estimates that the economic persecution of Bosniaks from that part of BiH is on the scene too because there is no place in hospitals and health centers for Bosniaks, there is no place in Elektroprivreda, Telecom, agencies and entity bodies or in local communities, which prevents the right to work and live, which results in the emigration of Bosniaks.

When it comes to the latest pressures and accusations of Bosniaks that they were preparing attacks, Salkić called them part of a special war against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bosniaks.

Therefore, he called on the state authorities to provide protection to individuals and their families who are shamefully accused of what they did not do and thus marked as a target for Serbian extremists.

At the same time, he expressed the expectation from the OHR to finally understand all the seriousness and fatality of separatist activities advocated and carried out by BiH Presidency member and leader of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) Milorad Dodik, which seriously endangers peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
