SARAJEVO, September 28 (FENA) - The BiH Presidency Member Željko Komšić met today with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden Johanna Strömquist to discuss the country's strategy and future engagement in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the meeting, the two officials discussed the 14 key priorities of the European Commission for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Komšić mentioned that this is an extremely important document, and that it is necessary for the international community to insist on the implementation of that document and not make compromises, regardless of the pressures from certain addresses within Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Ambassador Strömquist reaffirmed Sweden's absolute commitment to implementing all the measures set out in the document.
They also discussed the blockades in the formation of the FBiH government, as well as the announced blockades of the state government, conditioningit with the adoption of a new Election Law.
Komšić stressed that the amendments to the Election Law can only go in the direction of the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights and the concept accepted in a Western, democratic societies, and that there will be no compromise on discriminatory proposals aimed at further division of the country.
As he emphasized, everything that is good for the citizens of the Kingdom of Sweden and other countries of the European Union, is also good for the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that is the direction we must hold.
Also, the engagement of Sweden in the field of environmental protection in BiH was also one of the topics, as well as the cooperation related to the prevention of terrorism and border control, said the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
