SARAJEVO, September 30 (FENA) - The impact of the pandemic on military industry, unlike most other industries, and especially on the metal industry, is not so strong, and the military industry of BiH in the first seven months of this year recorded a decline in exports by 8.64 percent compared to the same period last year.

“In seven months, the export structure by products and markets is similar to last year, with significant growth in the markets of Turkey, USA and Switzerland, and new markets include Kuwait, Algeria and Bangladesh,” it was pointed out at a recent meeting of the members of the Group of military production at the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH, with the aim of adopting a joint plan of activities for the next year.

Last year was a record year for the military industry of BiH, as it was said on that occasion. Exports amounted to more than 240 million KM and this mainly refers to ammunition, and in a much smaller amount to weapons and their parts, and explosives.

In 2019, the best export results were achieved in the markets of Saudi Arabia (34 percent) and Egypt (28 percent). The most sought product, as in previous years, is ammunition with a caliber of 5.56 to 155 millimeters, it was pointed out during the meeting.
