TREBINJE, September 30 (FENA) - A two-day session of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPCBiH) is being held on September 30 and October 1 in the newly built Palace of Justice in Trebinje, which houses the District Court, Basic Court and District Public Prosecutor's Office.
The new building was officially opened in early September and has a modern archive space, detention facilities, two large modern courtrooms, court police rooms, lawyers, witness support, a library and the necessary technical and IT equipment.
In this way, the problem of lack of spatial capacities has been solved and the full functionality of the work of the three most important judicial institutions was ensured, the HJPC BiH announced.
HJPC supported the construction through the preparation and drafting of project documentation, which was a necessary precondition for starting the construction process.
As further stated, the preparation of project documentation was ensured through the Judicial Efficiency Improvement Project II implemented by the HJPC with the financial support of the Government of the Kingdom of Sweden, which is a long-term partner of the BiH judiciary.
Funds for the construction of the Palace of Justice were allocated by the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina within the pre-accession assistance program - IPA.
With the involvement of the HJPC and the support of the Government of Sweden, projects for the construction or renovation of judicial institutions have been implemented in Ljubuški, East Sarajevo, Tuzla, Foča, Bihać, Banja Luka, Doboj, Žepče, Sarajevo, Mrkonjić Grad, Prnjavor and Bijeljina.
