Turković and Varhelyi on economic recovery projects

SARAJEVO, October 2 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turković participated in a video conference with the European Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Oliver Varhelyi, which discussed economic recovery projects and other topics important for regional integration.

Varhelyi presented a package of economic recovery plans for the Western Balkans region, with a focus on the digital economy, social issues, Roma, the labor market and wastewater management.

It was emphasized that the European Union will support economic projects, especially projects that connect capitals and projects to strengthen internet connections.

As it was said, the focus will also be on young people, developing innovation, skills, knowledge-based economy and research. It was pointed out that nine billion euros are ready, of which six billion will be invested directly in infrastructure projects and the economy.

Commissioner Varhelyi called on all countries to apply for the projects, and urged local actors to be committed to meeting all the conditions, the Press Service of the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
