TIRANA, October 5 (FENA) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović, who is on an official visit to Albania, visited Koxhas and Borake in Durres district today, where he met with Bosniaks living in large numbers in the area, writes FENA's reporter from Albania.

He visited the construction site of the Borake Elementary School in the Shijak municipality, where about 7,000 Bosniaks live, and which will be named Admen Sabljić. Džaferović was accompanied by members of the Bosnian community, BiH Honorary Consul in Albania Fikret Klarić and Shijak Mayor Elton Arban.

The construction of the school was financed by Albania, and part of the money was set aside by Bosnia and Herzegovina. About 220 students from first to ninth grade will take classes in English, Albanian and Bosnian.

Bosniaks have been granted the status of a national minority in Albania in 2017, and therefore have the right to study the Bosnian language in the said school. In Shijak Municipality, 15 percent of the population is from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Chairman Džaferović presented the keys to the newly built house of Ganija Korijenić, which was destroyed in a strong earthquake last year. It is one of eight houses that was rebuilt after the earthquake in the Borake area.

Džaferović called on Bosniaks to respect their homeland and be loyal citizens as they have been before, and to preserve the memory of the homeland and their ancestors. He thanked the honorary consul of BiH who is making selfless efforts to preserve the tradition.
