SARAJEVO, October 6 (FENA) - In August 2020, 71.589 tourists visit BiH, which is 50.9 percent more than in July 2020 and 65 percent less than in August 2019.
Tourists realized 207.720 overnight stays in August this year, which is 54.3 percent more than in July 2020 and 54.3 percent less than in August 2019. The share of domestic tourists in the total number of overnight stays was 75.2 percent, while the share of foreign tourists was 24.8 percent.
The number of overnight stays of domestic tourists was higher by 39.7 percent compared to July 2020 and higher by 60.4 percent compared to August 2019.
In August 2020, most overnight stays were realized by tourists from Serbia with (62 percent), Croatia (7.8 percent), Slovenia and the United Arab Emirates with (4.3 percent) and Germany with (3, 2 percent) which is a total of 81.6 percent. Tourists from other countries realized 18.4 percent of overnight stays, according to the BiH Agency for Statistics.
According to the length of stay of foreign tourists in BiH, tourists from Japan stayed the longest with an average stay of 26 nights, South Korea with 15 nights, India with 11.7 nights, South Africa with 8.7 nights, Hungary with 7.1 nights and Malaysia with six nights.
