TUZLA, October 8 (FENA) - The third International Festival of Contemporary Woman opened tonight in Tuzla at the International Gallery of Portrait.

Assistant Minister of Trade, Tourism and Transport of the Tuzla Canton Dželmina Huremović confirmed that the Government of the Tuzla Canton and the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Transport recognized the Festival of Contemporary Woman three years ago as a regional event of importance for the Tuzla Canton, an event that will bring important women from various fields - science, politics, health, art, culture, entrepreneurship, new technologies, sports and many other activities.

“We believed that such a festival could contribute to the promotion of the Tuzla Canton in the best light, that it could initially stimulate tourists' interest in the Tuzla Canton, and it is up to us to continue working on improving and developing the tourist offer to make the Canton a desirable tourist destination,” said Huremović.

She also said that the Government and the Ministry provide financial support to the Festival.

The first festival brought together many women, known and recognized not only in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region but also around the world. As part of the second festival, the Fair of Women's Creativity was held, which brought together more than a hundred different women's organizations that presented their work. Therefore, the Government of the Tuzla Canton again decided to support the third festival. Unfortunately, it is held in slightly different conditions due to the coronavirus pandemic, in accordance with all hygienic-epidemiological measures and orders of the Crisis Staff of the Ministry of Health.

“Despite the pandemic, women from 20 countries and from all spheres of life will join the festival to exchange experiences, learn the best from practice, meet new trends, make new friends, new inspiration,” said Dželmina Huremović.

This year's festival is something special, she pointed out.

Since it is held in the month of October, which is also the month of the fight against breast cancer, a humanitarian tournament in women's volleyball will be held on October 10 as part of this event.

“The goal of this humanitarian tournament is to include respectable companies, individuals, governmental and non-governmental institutions through sports to register their teams of women employees who will play volleyball at the humanitarian tournament in Tuzla and participate in collecting donations for the purchase of diagnostic equipment for early detection of breast cancer,” said Dželmina Huremović, Assistant Minister of Trade, Tourism and Transport in the Government of the Tuzla Canton.
