Exhibition '75 years of BH Journalists Association' opens at BiH Parliament

SARAJEVO, October 12 (FENA) - On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of its founding, the Association of Journalists of Bosnia and Herzegovina set up an archival exhibition "75 Years of the BH Journalists Association" in the hall of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH today.

The exhibition, which includes ten panels with archival material on the 75th anniversary of the BiH Journalists Association, was made in partnership with the Sarajevo Historical Archives and under the auspices of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Denis Zvizdić, and with the support of the BiH Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees.

The exhibition was opened by Zvizdić, who said that journalists do one of the most demanding and difficult jobs for any democratic society.

"Today, when you mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of the BH AJournalists association, I want to congratulate you on your perseverance and consistency in your work during all turbulent and challenging years," said Zvizdić and reminded that the Association was founded in 1945, immediately after World War II.

Director of the Sarajevo Historical Archives Fuad Ohranović addressed the guests, including foreign diplomats and representatives of international and domestic institutions also as the author of the exhibition and said that the exhibition was created from their archives and old documents and photographs of the BiH Journalists Association.

"The exhibition chronologically follows the founding of the Association, on October 11, 1945, until the last awards ceremony," said Ohranović.

The President of the Association of Journalists of BiH, Faruk Zupčević, expressed pride that the Association cherishes a long tradition by promoting the basic pillars of the profession, namely ethics, morality, support for the profession and the values ​​of journalism.

"Journalists continued to do their work in the period of transformation of one social system into another, war events, and then new beginnings, in the same way, with the same zeal, regardless of all the challenges, dangers and temptations of those times," Zupčević emphasized.

Finally, Zupčević announced the printing of a book by the BiH Journalists Association entitled "Media Against Hate Speech".

The exhibition in the hall of the BiH PA building will be available to visitors for the next seven days.
