Izetbegović: All three sides have to be included in all the talks

SARAJEVO, October 12 (FENA) - President of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Bakir Izetbegović believes that the current relationship between official Zagreb and Belgrade is not good towards Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially in the year marking the 25th anniversary of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

First, Croatian officials invited the leader of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) Milorad Dodik to a meeting, and then today Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić organized a meeting with Dodik and the leader of the Croat Democratic Union (HDZ) Dragan Čović.

"They should not be doing this, but should include all three parties in all the talks and the state of BiH, its structures and hierarchy should be respected," Izetbegović underlined.

If he had been invited to attend that meeting, he says that he would have responded to it and that he would always respond to such invitations, especially because he believes that the image of BiH must be three-dimensional, and when he himself went to Zagreb for a meeting, he was convinced that there was too much one-sided story already.

"If we were to meet the demands of the Croat side, we would strengthen the tools and mechanisms with which they could forever do the things they are doing now. This means that there is no appointment of the FBiH Government without explanation or filling of the Constitutional Court of FBiH and that they choose which laws would be adopted. We want to preserve democracy, the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina cannot completely annul the will of the majority of the House of Representatives, and that is happening right now," Izetbegović underlined.

He points out that HDZBiH demands that the civic principle be made meaningless and that the existence of non-nationalist parties be made meaningless, as well as that the implementation of the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights be abandoned forever, and that only the judgment of that court in the Ljubić case be implemented.

"They cannot insist that our interests be unilaterally cut out of all these judgments and that only what one of the three sides is interested in gets implemented with the support of another side," Izetbegović said.

These things are persistently repeated as a mantra, says the leader of the SDA, assessing that they would be probably repeated tonight in Belgrade, and the leaders of the region should be helped to understand that it is all nonsense.

"That is why I went to Zagreb and I hope that Vučić will hear this too, because if someone keeps repeating it to you, then you will start believing it," Izetbegović concluded.
