Đonlagić: SNSD and HDZ prevent MPs from discussing Public Procurement Bill

SARAJEVO, October 14 (FENA) - An MP in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (DF) Dženan Đonlagić said that members of the Constitutional Committee from the SNSD and the HDZ voted against the Public Procurement Law and prevented MPs from discussing the Bill.

During the session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Đonlagić told reporters that it is very certain that members of the Constitutional Committee coming from the SNSD and the HDZ have already on two occasions discarded the Bill on Public Procurement in the Committee, which is the law directly linked to BiH's potential candidate status for membership in the European Union.

"There is no doubt that the members of that committee from those two political parties made the EC Opinion meaningless because they persistently reject the bills that are part of the European agenda," he said.

He also said that the SNSD and the HDZ continue to misuse membership in parliamentary committees.

"You cannot say that the Bill on Public Procurement is not in accordance with the Constitution of BiH, because there is a constitutional competence for the BiH PA to pass that law, and they have just stopped the possibility of discussing it," pointed out Đonlagić.

He believes that the existing Law on Public Procurement has major anomalies and that the pandemic period has proven it.
