SARAJEVO, October 16 (FENA) - BiH Presidency member Željko Komšić, commenting on the issue of recognizing the state of Kosovo, which was one of the main topics at yesterday's session of the BiH Presidency, reminded that there was no consensus on recognizing Kosovo in previous sessions of the BiH Presidency.
"Now we have brought this issue to the fore and I do not think it is a bad move. Our friends from Kosovo felt that everyone in BiH was indifferent to that. Now, at least we have shown that this is not the case and that we are not all the same in BiH. We sent a message to the people in Kosovo that we are interested in recognition," Komšić said for FENA.
As he says, "because of our earlier indifference to the recognition of Kosovo, Kosovo imposed customs tariffs on us, treated us like Serbia, even those relations were even worse because Kosovo and Serbia are cooperating."
"Now they know that they have friends in most people and politicians in BiH, despite Dodik's position. About twenty days ago, the Ambassador of Kosovo to Croatia called me and thanked me for advocating for the recognition of Kosovo, fully aware of the fact that Dodik opposes it and that the final recognition of Kosovo by BiH will be difficult to achieve at this moment," Komšić concluded.
