SARAJEVO, October 18 (FENA) -Transparency International in Bosnia and Herzegovina (TI) has again reported to the Central Election Commission of BiH (CEC) the controversial video of the Ujedinjena Srpska political party in which ethnic hatred and violence is encouraged, and which is still distributed on social networks by the party's local committees.
Considering the decision of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina that the ban on spreading ethnic hatred and incitement to violence under Article 7.3 of the BiH Election Law applies only to the election campaign period, TI BIH once again reported to the CEC to decide that the distribution of the video has continued during the election campaign as well.
In the last decision, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina did not decide on the content of the disputed video but took the position that all prohibitions from this article of the Election Law refer only to the period of the election campaign.
After the decision of the Court, Ujedinjena Srpska removed the video from certain accounts on social networks, but the TI BIH received reports from citizens that the video has continued to be distributed on some of their accounts and by the local committees of this party.
TI BIH reported this video to the CEC even earlier, because by creating stereotypes, it encourages hostility towards members of three ethnicities, which is especially manifested in the scene where one of the participants simulates firing a gun.
Considering that the election campaign started on October 16, and that the video continues to be distributed by this political party, TI BiH expects an adequate sanction to be imposed due to a serious violation of the Election Law.
