SARAJEVO, October 20 (FENA) - The American Chamber of Commerce in BiH (AmCham BiH) organized an online closing ceremony of a joint project for securing and developing the workforce for AmCham BiH member companies on Monday.
US Ambassador to BiH Eric Nelson attended the event and commended the success of the project, stressing the importance of continuing similar projects in the future.
The project was implemented through the coordination of AmCham, by uniting nine successful IT companies operating in BiH.
“As Bosnia and Herzegovina becomes home to a growing number of small and medium-sized companies with the potential to export services to sophisticated clients from Europe and the world, American Chamber of Commerce in BiH has recognized the need to develop professional staff to manage and address future challenges of BiH IT companies sector,” the statement said.
The beneficiaries of the project are nine reputable IT companies operating in BiH: Academy 387, Authority Partners, Lanaco, Link Group, Logosoft, MIBO Communication, Mistral Solutions, SYS Company and ZIRA, which face a lack of adequately trained workforce on a daily basis.
“With the help of the USAID WHAM Activity program, we managed to present ourselves as an organization that can lead projects that improve the business environment in BiH. With our support, we also managed to define the strategic orientation of the chamber towards project management and towards resolving difficulties in the business of our members,” said AmCham BiH.
The project resulted in the training of 113 people, 37 of whom have already found jobs in IT companies in BiH. The activities were funded by USAID through the WHAM project of strengthening the workforce and market access.
