SARAJEVO, October 20 (FENA) – President of HDZ BiH Dragan Čović met today in Sarajevo with Head of the EU Delegation to BiH Johann Sattler and US Ambassador to BiH Eric Nelson.
The joint meeting included 14 key priorities and socio-economic reforms on Bosnia and Herzegovina's European path, as well as the EU package for the economic recovery of the Western Balkan countries. Also, the officials discussed the local elections and respect for the principles of legitimacy and constitutionality, the HDZ BiH stated.
Bosnia and Herzegovina's EU path is unquestionable, Čović said, reaffirming the European commitment of Croat political officials. It was emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina needs a new impetus to urgently approach the implementation of 14 key priorities. In addition, it is necessary to approach the protection of the constitutional order, eliminating destructive actions that increasingly call for the denial of the principles of constitutionality and legitimacy. Following this, the officials also discussed the Law on Conflict of Interest and the High and Judicial Prosecutorial Council of BiH.
In the conversation, Čović confirmed that the principles of legitimacy and constitutionality are indisputable factors of the current and future Bosnia and Herzegovina. Legitimate political representation, he pointed out, is the key to a stable and inclusive political environment in which BiH can prove its democratic maturity and commitment to European principles.
On the occasion of discussing the economic situation, the officials also commented on the Economic and Investment Plan, which envisages measures for the economic recovery of the Western Balkan countries and strong international partnerships that contribute to building a developed democratic Bosnia and Herzegovina.
