SARAJEVO, October 22 (FENA) - The third Sarajevo Innovation Summit organized by the School of Economics and Business in Sarajevo at the University of Sarajevo (EFSA) began today in an online edition with welcoming speeches by the Dean of the School of Economics and Business Sarajevo Jasmina Selimović and the creator of the Summit, Amila Pilav-Velić, who emphasized the importance of higher education institutions in the context of innovation.
“Innovations today are one of the most important sources of long-term economic growth, and cooperation between the educational, business and public sectors is becoming an imperative for sustainable economic development. The realization of such an event will certainly contribute to institutionalized cooperation with the business sector and enable the transfer of best practices through the "Open science" model. This type of cooperation will promote regional economic growth, job creation but also the increasingly important role of higher education in this regard and reduce the gap between research institutions and the business sector and increase the innovative capacity of the academic community,” said Dean Selimović.
“Sarajevo Innovation Summit is a very important initiative for the development and progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is necessary to turn the crisis into an opportunity to improve and reconstruct the economic system and society,” said Aida Hadžialić, the youngest minister in the history of the Government of the Kingdom of Sweden.
The Summit program includes two panel discussions: "New normal - Is your technology ready for the new digital reality? and "Digital art cultural experiences in the post-Covid era," EFSA announced.
