BiH CoM - Action plan to implement the strategy for combating human trafficking

SARAJEVO, October 22 (FENA) - The Council of Ministers of BiH adopted the Action Plan of the Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the Implementation of the Strategy for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the period 2020-2023, proposed by the Ministry of Security.

The action plans are adopted by the governments of the entities, cantons and the Brčko District of BiH for the institutions within their jurisdiction. 

The set of measures, among other things, contains activities that will be carried out by the competent institutions of BiH within certain deadlines in order to improve coordination to combat trafficking in human beings, better collection and analysis of statistics in this area, harmonization of criminal legislation with Council of Europe and EU recommendations, improving the protection and rights of victims of trafficking, and prevention measures.

The Action Plan defines measures for strengthening partnerships and improving cooperation with civil society, academia and the private sector, stated the BiH CoM.
