Indictments filed against OSA BiH officials, Mehmedagić and Pekić

SARAJEVO, October 22 (FENA) - The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has indicted Osman Mehmedagić (1962), Director of the BiH Intelligence and Security Agency (OSABiH), and Muhamed Pekić (1991), Head of the Cyber ​​Security Department at OSA BiH. 

Mehmedagić and Pekić are charged with abusing their official position or authority, as well as the resources and capacities of the OSA BiH for private and personal interests, and that in August 2020, in order to obtain information and photos about a person who filed an anonymous criminal complaint against the OSA director. 

"In performing the said actions, the accused repeatedly abused their position, as well as official procedures established by law, and violated the right to inviolability of written and postal communication guaranteed by the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina and International Conventions on Human Rights," the Prosecutor's Office said.

The BiH Prosecutor's Office filed a proposal to impose a prohibiting measure against Mehmedagić and Pekić, banning them from performing the official duties of director and employee of the OSA and banning contact with employees of the OSA in order that the proceeding could be conducted unhindered.

The indictment was forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
