The extradition of the suspect took place at the Sarajevo International Airport, after which he was deprived of liberty and will be handed over to the acting prosecutor, said the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.

Terrorism suspect, former ISIL fighter, Jahja Vuković extradited to BiH judiciary

The suspect Jahja Vuković, born in 1999 in Bihać, has been under investigation by the Terrorism Department of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and is suspected of having traveled to Syria in 2014, and joined the so-called paramilitary formation of "ISIL" (Islamic State), which was declared a terrorist organization by the UN Security Council.

According to the evidence gathered, the suspect joined the Al Nusra Front formation, where, together with other BiH citizens, he participated in the group's terrorist activities within the Hattab unit, which included attacks on the civilian population, killings, illegal detentions and other terrorist acts.

The collected evidence indicates that the suspect was a member of these formations until 2019, and the final collapse of the so-called structures of "ISIL", after which he hid in the territory of Turkey, where he was discovered and imprisoned.
