Interreligious Council organizes performance condemning hate speech in public

SARAJEVO, October 23 (FENA) - The Interreligious Council in Bosnia and Herzegovina organized today, as part of the project "Religious Officials and Youth Against Hate Speech" a performance in Sarajevo in front of the Cathedral, condemning hate speech in public and everyday communication in society.

This is the last, fourth performance that was previously held in Zenica, Tuzla and Banja Luka.

With their performance, young amateur actors tried to point out a positive attitude towards their peers, while showing understanding and acceptance of others and different.

It is an organization that has been working on interreligious dialogue and reconciliation for 23 years, bringing together four traditional churches and religious communities in BiH: the Islamic Community, the Serbian Orthodox Church, the Catholic Church and the Jewish Community.

The project "Religious Officials and Youth Against Hate Speech" will soon be completed with the establishment of the Youth Network of the Interreligious Council in BiH, with the aim of involving young people, turned to churches and religious communities, in interreligious dialogue and joint work for a better future and creating opportunities for young people living in BiH.

The project is being implemented with the support of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Resilience Initiative (BHRI) program implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), with the financial support of the United States Development Agency (USAID), the Interreligious Council in BiH said.
