Torlaković: I find inspiration in rich and diverse culture and history

SARAJEVO, November 1 (FENA) - "Wonderland's Secret?" atelier is primarily a spiritual space, which, in addition to products that are handmade, also offers ideas that I bring into my work. It was officially opened three years ago, although it is a dream I have had since I was fifteen when I made jewelry, handbags and clothes for my friends. After 20 years of experience in this business, with the encouragement and support of my long-time customers who have always appreciated my creative work, I dared to take this step, said the founder and owner of the studio "Wonderland's Secret?" Amra Torlaković, a lawyer who decided to pursue her dreams in a completely different sphere.

"At the beginning of my work, I only made bags and had a few products. But as the studio developed, so did my imagination, and I realized that it is not necessary to limit myself to just one group of products but to make what I want and love. Today, I express my creativity and skill in bigger ideas like shaping stone or metal, to something 'simpler', such as making cotton reusable bags," said Torlaković in an interview with FENA.

She finds inspiration in rich and diverse culture and history. She is also inspired by modern art, the current state, where she intertwines the seemingly incompatible, which gives these objects an additional personality.

Each collection is a story for itself.

The "Marble" collection is made of granite stone and consists of a stećak-shaped handbag and unisex stone jewelry and a bracelet named after the Bosnian queen Katarina, all inspired by the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Middle Ages.

The "BHome" collection is a collection of furniture for the whole family inspired by the Bosnian carpet and family spirit.

The "Villa" collection is a fairytale collection of slippers in silver, gold and copper colors with unique decorations.

For all her products she uses natural materials like leather, stone, wool, silk and metal.

"I like the most when I can purchase them from our domestic producers, which then gives a really authentic BiH product," said Torlaković.

"I have a small number of customers, who always come back to me and they are my best advertisement. This was especially evident in this period," said at the end of the interview with FENA Amra Torlaković, a lawyer who learned the craft of designing objects from her father who was in a shoe business and instead of the world of law she chose the world where she can shape reality with her hands.
