ZENICA, November 11 (FENA) - Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly and President of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Bakir Izetbegović said today in Zenica that BiH would continue on the path it had before the outbreak of the pandemic.

In a statement after the meeting with the Prime Minister of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, Mirza Ganić, he added that 2019 was as such as they had promised.

"We promised 100,000 jobs in 10 years, and we created 105,000 jobs in six years, and we promised to turn the Federation of BiH into a large construction site for infrastructure facilities, and all this will be jumpstarted in March or April 2021," said Izetbegović.

He pointed out that BiH is no exception compared to the rest of the world when it comes to lives and jobs lost due to the pandemic, but that it has fared somewhat better than the European average.

"In these eight months, we had as many dead as some other countries had per day and we lost less than three percent of jobs, about 13,000," claims Izetbegović.

He stressed that the ZDC managed the crisis somewhat better than most other regions in BiH.

Ganić stated that they have invested significant funds for the development of healthcare institutions and that they financed the costs of workers' salaries for all business entities that were prevented from working and launched a credit fund for the economy.
