Exhumations in the Srebrenica area - Remains of at least five persons found

SARAJEVO, November 13 (FENA) - An exhumation process began on Wednesday at the Miholjevina site in the Srebrenica municipality, under the order of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Incomplete remains of at least two people, victims of the past war, have been found so far.

Also, in the area of ​​the Srebrenica municipality, during the exhumation at the Kragljivode site, the remains of at least three persons were found on Thursday.

The subsequent process will determine the identity of the victims, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH said.

According to available information, it is assumed that the remains found at these locations belong to the victims of Bosniak nationality murdered in the area.

The investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH directly supervised the activities in the field and coordinated the exhumation process on the order of the acting prosecutor.

Officials of the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH, representatives of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), forensic medicine specialists, the staff of the Tuzla Commemorative Center, as well as police officers of the RS MoI, participated in the process of searching and exhuming the remains.
