SARAJEVO, November 20 (FENA) - Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Selmo Cikotić talked today with Commander of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, Brigadier General William Edwards.
It was assessed that functional cooperation has been achieved through previous partnerships, which is reflected in numerous trainings and exercises in order to strengthen the protection and rescue system to respond to possible natural and other disasters, but also through concrete material assistance to strengthen the capacity of BiH institutions.
The officials pointed out the importance of continuing the implementation of the Reform Program in order to raise security standards and strengthen the ability of BiH institutions to adequately respond to security challenges.
Minister Cikotić reiterated BiH's determination to strengthen partnerships and continue co-operation with NATO, as well as its readiness to jointly fight global security challenges.
Considering that Brigadier General Edwards will soon leave the position of Commander of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, Minister Cikotić wished him much success in his new position, as well as in his professional career, the Ministry of Security of BiH announced.
