General Hospital receives a donation of protective equipment worth 168,000 KM

SARAJEVO, November 24 (FENA) - Richard Masa, Head of Cooperation of the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Erno Baratha, Brigadier General of EUFOR, with his associates, presented to the staff of the General Hospital 'Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš' in Sarajevo valuable donation of medical protective equipment containing protective surgical suits, protective gloves and shoe covers today. The total value of the donated equipment is 168,000 KM.

The equipment was procured with European Union funds through projects implemented by UNDP BiH, providing support to medical staff in the fight against Covid-19, it was announced from the General Hospital 'Prim. Dr. Abdulah Nakaš'.

“For the needs of medical institutions in BiH, we have allocated seven million euros for the purchase of highly sophisticated medical equipment as well as for protective medical equipment. Most of the equipment has already been delivered, and we expect that the rest will be delivered in the coming weeks,” said Masa and emphasized that the European Union will continue to provide support to BiH.

Logistical support in the delivery of equipment was provided by the EUFOR mission in BiH.

“I am proud of my team from EUFOR, which enabled the delivery of this key equipment donated by the European Union. In this way, we have contributed to the medical staff being protected while doing their job and treating patients affected by coronavirus,” said EUFOR Brigadier General Baratha.
