DOBOJ, November 27 (FENA) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Zoran Tegeltija stated today in Doboj that there will be no additional measures in BiH that would restrict the movement and ban the work of economic entities, and that 1.23 million vaccines against the virus have been ordered so far.

At today's meeting, he discussed the current epidemiological situation in BiH with the prime ministers of the entities and the representative of the Brčko District.

“The greatest gratitude to all health professionals for what they have been doing in the last nine months. Our health sector is under great pressure due to the number of patients, but due to the ability of workers and good organization to adapt to this situation, the sector is still ready to accept all those who need adequate health care. They need additional financial support and human resources of all workers who are not employed in the health sector, and they could be,” said Tegeltija.

At the meeting, they stated that the epidemiological measures in BiH are stable, long-term and predictable, and that they have given good results for a longer period of time.

According to him, the number of measures available to BiH and all countries in the world is limited.

Tegeltija emphasized that 1,230,000 vaccines against coronavirus were ordered, and it is estimated that it will be by the end of the first quarter. He added that BiH is capable and ready to pay for it and do everything necessary in that regard.

FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić stated that vaccines are procured within the Covax program.

“It is a broadband program of all countries in Europe and the world, and it is already known that the vaccine costs 10.7 dollars. Methods have been applied so that all countries have equal access to vaccines for 20 percent of the population,” Novalić added.

Prime Minister of the Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković, said that BiH had procured a huge amount of protective equipment related to Covid-19.

As he said, funds for the purchase of vaccines have already been reserved in the entity budgets.

“We have already paid 20 percent in advance. The complete amount of vaccines that is planned for 20 percent of BiH citizens costs about 13 million dollars, or about 20 million KM. Of that, four million dollars are for RS, a little more than seven million for the Federation of BiH, and the rest is for the Brčko District,” Višković added.

The meeting was attended, among others, by the Minister of Health and Social Welfare of the Republic of Srpska, Alen Šeranić, and the Assistant Minister of Health of the FBiH, Goran Čerkez.
