Novalić: Tomorrow decisions on transfers to aid the economy

SARAJEVO, December 2 (FENA) - FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalic informed members of the House of Representatives of the Federation Parliament at an online session today that decisions on the first transfers will be made tomorrow at a session of the Federation Government to help the economy.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the government has only once decided to introduce a lockdown, which, says Novalić, had a good effect on health, but a very bad effect on the economy. The lockdown resulted in the laying off of 27,500 workers.

"That is the reason why we are now very abstinent from bringing another 'lockdown' despite some worrying indicators," Novalić emphasized.

In order to mitigate the effects of the pandemic, the government has adopted measures that were envisaged for companies that have more than 20 percent of the decline in total turnover.

"Also, the adopted 'corona law' provided for the Guarantee Fund is to be implemented in the coming days, the first loans are coming and the first guarantees are coming from our side. We think that this will be the next wind in the back of our economy," said Novalić.

The guarantee fund is not short-term, as it is intended to operate on a revolving basis.
