MOSTAR, December 4 (FENA) - The Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FTC BiH), in cooperation with the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, organized an economic forum in Mostar on Friday entitled "Croatia's Accession to the EU, Reflection on Economic Development - Positive Experiences BiH ".
The aim of the meeting was to get acquainted with the current state of the economy in BiH, find solutions to existing difficulties, i.e. obstacles to business improvement and economic development, the foreign trade of BiH, and positive practices in Croatia applicable to the BiH economy.
The President of the FTC BiH, Vjekoslav Vuković, told reporters after the meeting that Bosnia and Herzegovina are recording a slight economic recovery and reminded that the export potential of Bosnia and Herzegovina is 72 percent oriented towards the European Union.
“At the time of the pandemic, Bosnia and Herzegovina had a 25 percent drop in exports and a 28 percent drop in imports, while today it is minus 11 percent in exports and minus 14 percent in imports. So, we are now recording some positive changes thanks to the persistence of businessmen in BiH, their own capitalization and investment,” he said.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic and prescribed measures, the Economic Forum gathered a small number of participants, and in addition to businessmen, BiH line ministers and the host of the meeting, guests from Croatia attended, including Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Tomislav Ćorić and Croatian Chamber of Commerce President Luka Burilović.
