BELGRADE, December 14 (FENA) - Amendments to the Dayton Accords are possible only with the consent of all three constituent peoples and two entities, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and BiH Presidency Chairman Milorad Dodik said after a meeting in Belgrade.
"The Republic of Serbia considers that the Dayton Agreement can be changed only with the consent of all three constituent peoples and two entities, with the fact that Serbia respects the territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in no way violates it, but demands that the threats of abolition of the Republika Srpska shuld be stopped, because that constitutional category of BiH, arose from the peace agreement of the three constituent peoples and was confirmed in Dayton," Vučić's office said in a statement.
The statement said Dodik "informed Vučić of political attacks on Republika Srpska, as well as attempts to overthrow it, and made clear demands and pleas to the Republic of Serbia."
Vučić listened to Dodik and asked him to complete his demands in the upcoming period, which he assessed as legitimate, the statement said.
The President of Serbia pointed out that the relations between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina can and must be improved, primarily through significant economic integrations, connecting people and a view that is focused on the future, not the past.
In his response to Dodik, he also said that "Serbia will in no way close the border to people from Republika Srpska, regardless of the epidemiological situation in the Republic of Serbia and the Republika Srpska."
