SREBRENICA, December 17 (FENA) - A delegation of the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in BiH, headed by Ambassador Matthew Field, visited today the production facilities of Prevent Components in Srebrenica, where they learned about the Prevent Group's business, development plans and cooperation with companies in the UK market.

Ambassador Field also visited the production facilities where the components for the British automotive icons Aston Martin and Landrover are created. A meeting was also held with the representatives of the Prevent Group, who on this occasion expressed satisfaction with the current cooperation with the British Embassy in BiH.

“Today we came to see what Srebrenica can be again - a place of good living for all its citizens. I am glad that Prevent Components is helping to realize that vision. I am extremely pleased to hear that their business is expanding with Aston Martin, Jaguar and Land Rover, three well-known British car brands that are leading in the UK's ambition that all new vehicles have zero emissions by 2040,” said Ambassador Field.

Director of Prevent Components Enes Hadžiahmić told FENA that the British ambassador is a great friend of BiH and a promoter of trade between BiH and Great Britain.

“We are especially proud to present the plants in Srebrenica that are part of the supply chain of iconic brands of the British car industry. Prevent Components Srebrenica has been operating within the Group for seven years and we can conclude that this investment has exceeded even the most optimistic forecasts. The best proof of this is the recent collaboration with Aston Martin and the weekly delivery of components for more than a hundred DBX SUVs, the new flagship of this premium brand, as it is definitely one of the leading vehicles promoted worldwide, and we are particularly pleased to is done in our plants. The contribution of the Prevent Group to the development of BiH was also discussed at the meeting with an emphasis on employment and exports. During the meeting, the Ambassador especially emphasized the philanthropic activities of the Group, the Hastor Foundation and the empowerment of local communities throughout BiH,” said Hadžiahmić.

The interlocutors from Prevent and Ambassador Field exchanged views on the importance of continuing economic reforms as well as the imperative of creating a favorable business environment in BiH, and discussed other platforms for cooperation in the coming period.

In the past period, Prevent Group has significantly expanded its presence in the British market through other business divisions, such as the production of car upholstery and furniture. The total value of annual exports to this market exceeds 10 million British pounds.

In Srebrenica, Prevent has about 170 employees.

After visiting Prevent, Ambassador Field will also visit the Srebrenica-Potočari Memorial Center and pay tribute to the victims of genocide.
