STOLAC, 17 December (FENA) - The Municipality of Stolac and the Public Institution Radimlja are participating in the Via Dinarica project with the aim of establishing cooperation on improving the tourist infrastructure and expanding the offer of tourism services along the Via Dinarica trail.
The director of the Public Institution Radimlja, Maja Lopin, emphasized that this is a large project that is being implemented in four stages, with a lot of activities that will significantly improve the tourist offer of Stolac in the future.
"We have just finished the first stage of the project. The second stage will be completed soon, and it is divided into two beneficiaries from the municipality of Stolac, who successfully wrote and designed their projects. The third and fourth stages are planned for 2021," she said.
Lopin pointed out that they are extremely happy that the Municipality of Stolac was chosen to participate in this project because it will bring Stolac numerous novelties and benefits that will make the tourist offer of that municipality more attractive.
In the first stage of the project, they built a bicycle route with a partly paved road, they built a lookout for cyclists and the terrain has been prepared, the Boljuni necropolis has been adapted to the needs of cyclists and street furniture was made and installed along the trail.
Bicycles and necessary bicycle equipment have also been procured, with ongoing setting up an animal observatory, the toilet in Boljuni, the surrounding area around the Neveš well and the resting area.
The Via Dinarica project is implemented and co-financed by the United Nations Development Program in Bosnia and Herzegovina (UNDP BiH), with financial support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID BiH) and the Agency for Development Cooperation of the Republic of Italy (AICS).
