MOSTAR, December 18 (FENA) - After walking the streets of Mostar, representatives of the BH bloc ended their election campaign for the local elections in Mostar on Friday.
The holder of the BH bloc list in the second constituency, Irma Baralija, said in a press statement that despite the various media spins, they did not allow themselves to get involved in a dirty campaign, but talked about what would make Mostar better.
Commenting on the election expectations, Baralija said she was quite optimistic given the feedback she received from citizens in the 30 days of the campaign.
“Of course, it is very difficult to be the absolute winner in Mostar when you are the opposition because we are fighting against two very ingrained regimes that were obviously ready to do anything to stay in positions of power. Whatever the result, these people are winners because they offered resistance, they stood bravely and resisted,” said Baralija.
The president of Our Party, Peđa Kojović, said that their voters are citizens of Mostar who want a united, orderly, beautiful and European Mostar.
“I trust the people of Mostar and I am sure that on Monday we will wake up in a much better and more beautiful Mostar,” said Kojović.
SDP BiH Vice President Denis Bećirović said that two days before the elections, people should be told clearly what Mostar can do.
“Mostar can do without discrimination, without ethnic divisions, without ethnic apartheid, Mostar can be a single city, it can do without streets named after national fascists. Mostar has the strength to do a legal and financial audit of the activities of the previous government, and Mostar can do all that, with the candidates of the BH bloc,” he pointed out.
Bećirović added, "that he believes in a new, European Mostar, a Mostar of equal citizens and peoples, a Mostar that belongs to the state of BiH, Europe, and advanced civilization".
