CoM BiH accepts UNICEF support for vaccine procurement procedures

SARAJEVO, December 30 (FENA) - At its session on Tuesday, at the initiative of the BiH Ministry of Civil Affairs, the BiH Council of Ministers accepted UNICEF support for vaccine procurement procedures for Bosnia and Herzegovina within the Commitment agreement-committed purchase arrangement-COVAX and adopted the Decision on approving the multi-year project “Financing the costs from the contractual arrangements for the procurement of health countermeasures against Covid-19 for the period 2020-2022” and the use of funds in the amount of two million KM from the budget of BiH and international obligations of BiH for 2020.

The Council of Ministers has designated the Ministry of Civil Affairs as the competent institution in BiH to sign direct grant agreements for the procurement of vaccines, vaccine materials and equipment against Covid-19 infectious disease under the "EU for Health" mechanism, the EU Advanced Purchase Agreements and authorized the Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina to sign these direct agreements on behalf of BiH.

The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina also adopted the Information of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH on the need for urgent support of the European Commission to provide additional and strengthen the existing capacities of cold chains and vaccine materials in BiH prepared in accordance with the requirements of the competent institutions, said the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH.
