BIHAĆ, December 30 (FENA) - A convoy of 20 buses in which migrants and refugees from the abandoned reception camp were placed yesterday is still standing at the exit of the Lipa site, next to the main road M-5, i.e. the road connecting Bihać and Sarajevo.
More than 800 migrants and refugees have now been waiting for more than 24 hours for their next temporary destination to be determined, as this location is still unsuitable for a winter stay. They are taken care of by the Foreigners’ Affairs Office of BiH, as well as the staff of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and volunteers of the Red Cross of the City of Bihać.
The security situation is still controlled by a large number of police officers from the Ministry of the Interior of the Una-Sana Canton (USC), who have restricted access to and exit from the controlled area until an appropriate solution is found.
After rejecting the proposal of the Minister of Security of BiH Selmo Cikotić that these people be transported and placed in the military facility Bradina near Konjic, the representatives of the City of Bihać and the USC government clearly reiterated the opposite position on the temporary return of illegal migrants to the center "Bira".
The citizens of Bihać are still gathering in front of the Bureau, because, as they say, they do not want the scenario, when more than three thousand foreigners stayed in the central city zone without personal documents.
The involved trucking companies, whose transport vehicles contain passengers without a destination, are halted on the macadam road on Lipa, 27 kilometers away from Bihać, and their employees are also getting more dissatisfied.
