Radončić: I support our coalition's candidate for the mayor of Mostar

SARAJEVO, December 31 (FENA) - President of the Alliance for a Better Future of BiH Fahrudin Radončić assessed that 2020 was full of huge challenges, especially the coronavirus pandemic that shook the entire planet, including BiH, but 2020 also brought positive things - the elections in Mostar and personnel change in the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH.

At the press conference today, Radončić said that the economic crisis in BiH has reached its peak and that the responses of the entity governments have not been adequate. There is no new employment, but there are more layoffs. Unlike other countries, he said, BiH has not found a way to respond adequately to the crisis.

Speaking about the solutions to the migrant crisis, he reiterated the previously stated views, and that dealing with the crisis of illegal migration in BiH has not been good because from the very beginning, it was not treated as a security issue and adequate decisions were not made.

Radončić explained that the mass arrival of illegal migrants began with the government which included the SDS Minister Dragan Mektić.

"It is the government of the SDS and the SDA that has established the inadmissible practice of reducing the issue of illegal migration exclusively to the responsibility of Bosniaks. If we had started the deportation of illegal migrants in March, when I asked for it, we would not have the situation as it is today in the Una-Sana Canton and with those unfortunate people. And again, everything ends with the responsibility of Bosniaks and Bosniak politics, which is unacceptable," Radončić emphasized.

He added that he urgently expects the Council of Ministers of BiH to return the program of emergency employment of 1,400 border police officers, to start legal deportations of migrants, all "in order to discourage the arrival of new migrants".

Radončić also spoke about the coronavirus pandemic and noted that there was no reaction from the state level of government and that it is not surprising that there have been more than 4,000 deaths from COVID-19. Vaccination against coronavirus has started in the countries of the region, and no one in BiH knows when the vaccine will come and who will be in charge of it.

He expressed satisfaction with the elections held in Mostar.

"The elections in Mostar were important. I consider it necessary and I support our coalition for the mayor of Mostar. But whoever is the mayor, we have an atmosphere in which people will work for the benefit of the citizens," concluded the president of SBB, Fahrudin Radončić.

He stressed that BiH must get rid of all kinds of paternalism, we must solve our own problems.

He wished the citizens of BiH a happy and successful New Year 2021.
