BIHAĆ, January 3 (FENA) - About 1,000 migrants and refugees will most likely be temporarily accommodated on a plot with military tents set up in Lipa near Bihać, until the works on the full training of the reception center at this location are completed, is the conclusion after today's meeting of the Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Selmo Cikotić with representatives of the City of Bihać and Una-Sana Canton, as well as international organizations and the Armed Forces of BiH.

"We will try to prepare dignified accommodation in military tents as soon as possible, and immediately start construction work and preparation of the reception camp. Due to the weather conditions, it is ungrateful to forecast and promise deadlines, but we will all try to do it together as soon as possible. Now I can send a message to the citizens of Bihać that they no longer need to gather in front of the center 'Bira'", said Minister Cikotić.

Representatives of the cantonal and city authorities expressed satisfaction with today's meeting, i.e. the solutions offered.

"The most important thing is that we have started the process of solving this problem together and we will make all our resources available. It is in everyone's interest to provide these people with more normal living conditions as soon as possible, so that we can engage everything available, including help from our construction companies ", said the Prime Minister of the USC Mustafa Ružnić.

The Mayor of Bihać, Šuhret Fazlić, emphasized the importance of an agreement and joint action, and that only in this way can everything be resolved quickly.

"We are ready for all options all the time, except for the reopening of 'Bira' and I am really glad that Minister Cikotić confirmed today that this is no longer being considered. I think we can quickly solve the water supply and at least the temporary electricity supply. We will cooperate to the maximum and I am sure that we will take adequate care of these people quickly," Fazlić added.

An urgent engagement of the engineering unit of the Armed Forces has been announced, in order to prepare the plot with the set tents, as well as the tents themselves as soon as possible for the temporary accommodation of people.

About 1,000 migrants and refugees continued to protest today because of the inhumane living conditions, in which they have literally been surviving for ten days. Again, they did not accept their share of daily meals, but representatives of international organizations will probably inform them about the outcome of the meeting today and try to re-establish cooperation and a correct relationship, so that the complete care process would go smoothly.

Today, the Minister of Security of BiH Selmo Cikotić met with the Minister of Defense Sifet Podžić, Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of BiH Colonel General Senad Mašović, Director of the Foreigners’ Affairs Office Slobodan Ujić, Prime Minister Mustafa Ružnić, Mayor of Bihać Šuhret Fazlić, representatives of the EU Delegation and visited the location of Lipa near Bihać.
