SARAJEVO, January 11 (FENA) - MPs in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina supported an initiative to dismiss from duty the Deputy Minister of Civil Affairs Siniša Ilić.
Twenty-two deputies voted for Ilić's removal, 11 were against it, while three MPs abstained.
Deputies from the SDS, the PDP, the SDP, the DF, the Party of Democratic Activity (A-SDA) and the Independent Bloc (NB) demanded his removal because of his involvement in organizing illegal gambling operations.
During the debate, the MPs commented that continuous and deliberate violations of the law for personal gains send a message to citizens that there is an untouchable political elite in BiH that is not accountable before the law and that is allowed to damage the budget for acquiring personal wealth.
