SARAJEVO, January 13 (FENA) - Prosecutor of the Terrorism Department has filed an indictment against Jahja Vuković, born in 1999 in Bihać, extradited to Bosnia and Herzegovina on October 22, 2020, since when he has been in custody.
The accused Jahja Vuković (1999) is charged with having been in Syria from 2014 to 2020, where he fought in the structures of the terrorist organization "Al-Nusrah Front", which was declared a terrorist organization by the UN Security Council.
He is charged with leaving BiH on June 16, 2014 and going to Germany, from where he traveled by plane to the Republic of Turkey after about two months, and then illegally crossed the border between Turkey and Syria, with the intention of joining terrorist groups operating on that area.
According to the evidence gathered, the accused joined formations within the terrorist organization "Jabatul Nusra Front" (Al-Nusrah Front) and terrorist groups operating in Syria, which have been declared terrorist organizations by the UN Security Council, which included attacks on the civilian population, killings, illegal detentions and other terrorist acts.
The indictment alleges that the accused stayed in the said area together with other persons from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who were staying in Syria with the same intention, and under the name "Abdulaziz" participated in terrorist activities, provided assistance and fought on the side of the forces "Džebatul Nusra front ".
The accused stayed in Syria until the collapse and defeat of the so-called "ISIL" structures, after which he hid in the territory of the Republic of Turkey, where he was located, deprived of liberty and extradited to the judiciary of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The accused is charged with becoming a member of a terrorist group and providing assistance to a terrorist group, thus committing the criminal offense of organizing a terrorist group.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH announced.
