DF: Citizens suffer because of rejection to adopt the public procurement bill

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, January 16 (FENA) - Head of the caucus of the Democratic Front in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, Dženan Đonlagić, stated in a press release that the HDZ and the SNSD, with the help of silent indifference of some stakeholders and other political parties in the BiH House of Representatives, have once again blocked the Bill on public procurement in BiH.

"Today, when we are witnessing slow procedures for the procurement of vaccines and when we have the opportunity to hear alleged appeals by Goran Čerkez, Assistant Minister of Public Health of the Federation of BiH about the need to amend the Law on Public Procurement of BiH, we can only state with regret that despite the efforts of the DF - that law has not been adopted, which is why all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina continue to suffer," stated the DF.

The DF is of the opinion that the problem of procurement of vaccines would have been solved a few months ago if the new Bill on public procurement of BiH had not been deliberately scrapped by the competent parliamentary committee.

The MPs of the Democratic Front sent a new Bill on public procurement to the parliamentary procedure a few months ago, but it never came to the state parliament for discussion, because, as this political party underlined, it was "downright rejected twice in the committee procedure".
