ZAGREB, January 18 (FENA) - President of the Croat Democratic Union (HDZ) BiH and the Croat National Assembly of BiH Dragan Čović held a working meeting in Zagreb today with HDZ President and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, and discussed incentives for the development of Bosnia and Herzegovina, its European path, as well as the protection of Croats in BiH.
Also, Čović and Plenković discussed the recent local elections in Mostar and the "worrying events" that Čović reported to European officials in a letter sent on January 18, the HDZ BiH said.
The President of the HDZ BiH expressed satisfaction with the good neighborly relations and cooperation with the officials of the Republic of Croatia, emphasizing the appreciation for the persistent attention to the internal challenges in BiH and its Euro-Atlantic path.
Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković expressed absolute support for preserving the rights of Croats in BiH and said that the Croatian authorities under his leadership would continue to work on improving cooperation with legitimate Croatian officials in order to further strengthen BiH's European perspective so that the rights and status of the Croat people would no longer be called into question.
At the same time, he expressed concern over the events related to the local elections in Mostar, emphasizing that no election process, especially the one that has been awaited for 12 years, should lose its integrity, welcoming the legal action of Croat officials to shed light on these events.
